We found Denali in December 2000, in Southern New Jersey. It was a freezing, cold day and she was gnawing on a frozen bagel in our back yard. She adopted us, we adopted her and she became a very happy house cat. Denali is named after Denali National Park, in Alaska. Denali means the “High One” in the native Athabasca language.
Denali moved with us to New Mexico in 2009, into a “cat friendly” house with lots of low window sills and seats for observing the outside activity. She loved the house and the abundance of warm sunshine in Las Cruces. Curling up with us in bed and sharing her warmth, made her, and us, extremely happy! Catching a lizard or a moth was a delicacy to our inquisitive little girl. We loved to see her happy face greet us at the door every time we returned home.
We truly enjoyed Denali’s company for 16 wonderful years. She was a very special kitty that we loved very dearly and we will always miss her friendship and love. We will never forget our little angel! ~Lynn & Jim Enright
